The year-long program is designed for participants to work towards establishing a strong GPA in upper division biological science courses, reaffirm knowledge gained in undergraduate science courses prior to the UC San Diego Post Baccalaureate Premedical Program, prepare for the MCAT, and develop strong medical school applications and interview skills.

Based on their success in the UC San Diego Post Baccalaureate Premedical Program, most program participants will proceed to apply to medical schools across the country beginning in June. Some participants may choose to wait a year following the program to add, at their own initiation, clinical, research or volunteer experience to their portfolios.
Regardless, application to medical school should be made when the student's portfolio and candidacy are strongest.
